Offley Vintage Port, 2016 75cl

This deliciously harmonious Port has a dense, almost black colour and is bursting with juicy, dark forest fruit and hints of sweet spice. The lively acidity balances the sweetness and the flavour intensity to give a balance of harmony in its long finish.

Its elegance and complex profile gives an intense aroma with balsamic notes of resin, cedar and tobacco box, complemented by spicy tones of black pepper, clove and well-matured black fruit. It's powerful on the palate, has a well-integrated acidity, very good tannins and some floral notes to make this a very enjoyable Port.

Offley was established in 1737 by William Offley and gained international renown and prestige under the leadership of Joseph James Forrester, a charismatic man who would be later known as the Baron of Forrester, a title bestowed upon him by the King of Portugal. The Baron of Forrester is one of the main characters and an influential personality in the history of Porto, expanding the Porto Wine industry in the Nineteenth century.
