Impruneta terracotta has a distinctive burnt orange colouring. Our suppliers produce the pots using methods developed in Renaissance Italy. The same techniques remain in use today amongst the seven potters left in Impruneta who are licensed to produce Impruneta terracotta. The village of Impruneta has been producing terracotta for hundreds of years and still has kilns or fornace dating back to 1098.
