Midsummer Magic is a tale based on an ancient tradition of midsummers eve bonfire. Celebrating the power of the sun on the evening of the longest day was believed to help protect villagers against witches and dark forces.
The tale unfolds as the villagers fail to light the bonfire and Freya and her pet ferret venture into the midnight woods to find a way to make things right/ rescue/ undo the spell. (I dont like using rescue here, feel like a cliche.) It is a story about courage and Freyas knowledge in using protection herbs.
This summer solstice book is designed to pair up with my Winter solstice book, The Winter Wassail. (Holding up both 2 books to show the camera). These 2 books are of their own separate story but both based on the ancient practice and beliefs around the significance of the solstices.
