Thirty years ago, I was fortunate enough to complete my sommelier training in Épernay, at the very heart of Champagne country, so it’s fair to say I’ve tasted one or two Champagnes in my time.
When Jarrolds asked me to select a local equivalent, my decision was instant. After tasting this cuvée with Lee Dyer at his Surlingham Estate, there was no doubt that this was the one. I’m delighted that Jarrolds secured the entire cuvée, making Our Type of Drink label the only way to enjoy this exceptional wine.

Warre’s, founded in 1670, is the oldest British Port house and remains one of the most respected names in the Douro. The term Bottle Aged refers to the way this Port has matured, much like a Vintage Port, spending most of its ageing time in bottle rather than in wood.
