This was one of the wines which wowed Wowed Wine Club Members back in July at our Argentinian Wine Tasting Event. This month, I would like to take the opportunity to offer all Wine Club members the chance to enjoy this unique fine wine.

Produced in the Salta region, in the northeast of the country, near the town of Cafayate, the Estates vineyards sit at 1800-1828 metres above sea level, making them the highest vineyards in the world – much colder than the low semi dessert flat land.

Perfect for producing delicate refined wines, such as this. Torrontes is a very flavoursome grape, with a delicate spicey nature, grown extensively in South America, where most of the grapes are used to make Pisco, the local spirit. A shocking use for a grape which makes very enjoyable wine, more so when partnered with a classic Riesling.

The two together provide freshness and balanced fruity flavours, which works well with fish or chicken dishes as well as goat’s cheese.
