The Harling has a contemporary look and feel, with strong clean lines, neat tailoring and precise curves. The arm with its curved top, references styles from the English Regency Period (1811 – 1820 ) and takes inspiration from the arches and windows found in the Neo-Classical architecture of the time. Regency styles would traditionally have had a turned leg, but instead Drew created a square tapered leg which was commonly used from the late 19th to the early 20th century. In complete contrast to these antique styles, the upholstery across the seat and the back is inspired by the Mod suits of the 60s – square-cut and really smart. Brought together, these elements combine to create a timeless piece of furniture.
