Be it a lazy afternoon reclining in the garden or some hard graft down on the allotment, you deserve to do it in style. Pop on one of Goodrum & Merryweathers Reap and Sow sunhats and you will be shaded and chic in equal measure. Beachcombing? Backpacking? Seeing the sights? The Reap and Sow will have you covered.
These practical and pared-down straw sunhats are all about fuss-free simplicity, whilst being really rather special. Made entirely by hand from woven seagrass and wheat-straw, the materials used in these hats are original vintage and date from at least forty years ago; you dont get quality, artisanal, products like these anymore.
The raw materials have been shaped and stitched the traditional way in the Goodrum & Merryweather studio in the heart of Norwich. Each hat is designed in a slightly different way, giving nods to vintage silhouettes from past decades, such as a 1960s mushroom brim or a 1950s wide cartwheel hat. We love such history and heritage here at Goodrum & Merryweather and are careful to preserve and celebrate it.
Each sunhat is finished with a classic band of Petersham ribbon and should fit an average-sized head of 22-22.5inches (circumference) with some allowance (as a natural material, straw has a little give). This particular model has a hat elastic added for extra security, to be used if and when preferred. Effortless and enduring, a Reap and Sow sunhat is set to be something of a hardy perennial, worn and admired season upon season.
